stories of the TheGoldenHearts - Part III

- on the train -

well, I have a quirk which is to give special golden hearts to persons who I think could be in need of one or would deserve to get one. - here I want to share the story of the last one which I have given away...

... and again it happened, that I was on my way back home from a great expedition. and again had taken 3 golden hearts with me to charge them with positve energy in the very heights and on top of that mountain...

... I was very exhausted because of the long trip coming back from pakistan. we had have very serious problems to leave the country in reasons of a natural disaster destroying large parts of the karakorum highway. - well, and beyond that I was doing rather poor as for my healthyness. I had crashed down unexpectedly into a deep hole which I could not see in the darkness - and had gotten very seriously injured at my head and right knee. so I hobbled around at the central station of munich to check for a train going my direction back home. of course the ICE which I wanted to take, did not go when I was in need of it - yet again (and of course I had already booked a ticket for this highspeed train in advance...) and so I had to take the normal (and snaily) night-express instead... congratulations!!!

... the information clerk advised me to book a seat-reservation, because the train would likely be overcrowded. well, and as I did not like the perspective of standing or sitting in the aisle for about 10 long hours - and the more with my injuries, I booked the seat. - well, and when I entered the train... and went to my seat, I realized, that the train was not more than at most half-empty. but as chance would have it, the seat next to mine was occupied by a young lady. - well, I thought: poor her... such a bad luck to have such a neighbour as me -haha. I really looked a bit wild and rundown... my pants still dirty from the wilderness of the karakorum... as we did not have any time to change our clothes - and the more had to leave back parts of our equipment at the basecamp of the mountain... but thats another story...

... however, I took my seat, exchanging a salute with my neighbour. - after a while we came in touch... dont know why or how... but she was a sympathica. - sandra, her name - she was about 18 years behind me. and she told me her story, why she was sitting in that train. it was in reasons that she came back from a visit of her b/f who was running a chalet on a small alp somewhere in the austrian alps... and she planned to move there to go to live with him in that place. - she was from cologne and now went every three weeks to go to visit her b/f on his alp to assist him with running the chalet. she always stayed with him for two weeks... then one week at home... and back again to austria...

... well, she was so full of hope and imagination - and was so devoted to her b/f and their plans of spending their common future in the loneliness of that alp. and she was really such a charming person. I admired her for her courage to abondon her home and environment, where she had grown up - to leave her home forever to stay with her b/f on that lonely alp. and I found it such a special constellation, that we had met there on the train. she planing to move to the austrian alps to stay there in the loneliness of an alp - such a big step in contrast to live in a big city like cologne, which she was accustomed to. - and on the other hand me, who just came back from one of the highest mountains on earth. I found it somehow metaphoric: she was going to climb her personal 8.000er in metaphorical sense - such a challenge and a deep cut for her, to change her life that way...

... well, and so we had a good time that night, sharing some stories of our lifes - and time flew away... - then, when we came closer to cologne, I asked her, if she would take a lil gift from me - as a souvenir of our common journey of that night. and she smiled at me and meant: "why not?" - and then I put off one of the golden hearts from my necklace and gave it to her. she was stunned - and it was a very special moment for the two of us... for moments she was lost for words... and when I explained her the story of that heart - and my thoughts, why I wanted to give it to her, she meant she would keep it as souvenir and luckycharme from now on. - and that was about it...

... we arrived at cologne central station - I helped her to carry her luggage to the door... and we hugged each other for farewell. - the story of a sundowner and a lady who met by chance on the train. two hearts touching each other - two roads of life running parallel for some moments. - I think we were meant to meet that night - in which reasons ever...
